General Information What is a Soroptimist? Soroptimist is a worldwide organization for women in management professions working through service projects to advance the rights and status of women. The Soroptimist International of Auburn club includes women of all ages and cultures. Members represent a wide array of professions, including small business owners, education, real estate, accounting, management, law, government, investments, art, medical, technology, marketing, community service and active retirees. Soroptimists members bring their unique perspectives and stories to the table. The bonds forged through collaboration often lead to lasting friendships that transcend club events. Time and time again we hear how Soroptimist friendships can become an enduring source of joy, laughter, and encouragement, enriching life in unexpected ways. Not only that — Soroptimists are fun! We believe that making a difference can also be enjoyable. Our volunteer clubs host a variety of events and activities, including social gatherings, educational programs, service projects, book clubs, fundraisers, and parties. Q. How much are the membership dues? A. Soroptimist International of Auburn dues are $150.00 per year.
Q. What is the time commitment? A. The time commitment may vary between 4-6 hours per month depending on the different activities you participate in.
Q. Do you need a sponsor to join a Soroptimist club? A. No sponsor is needed to join the club, just contact a local club & let them know you'd like to attend a meeting.
Q. What type of organizations does Soroptimist support? A. Some of the organizations S.I. Auburn & S.I. Historic Auburn support include: Peace for Families, Placer County Receiving Home, Sexual Assault Response Team nurses, Stand Up Placer and local high schools and clubs.
Q. Are there attendance requirements? A. There are no attendance requirements; however, we encourage our members to attend our business & program meetings and to participate in some club projects and committees.
